OFFERED ... a set of vintage Japanese plastic/lacquerware coasters with round box.  A lovely compact set, cinnabar in color, with gold enamel botanical images including chrysanthemums, peonies, iris, bamboo, cherry blossoms and other.  The gold images are raised, possibly hand painted.  Quality craftsmanship.  Coasters are a part of the Japanese tea ceremony where cups would be placed.  Each coaster measures 3 1/8" in diameter; box slightly larger in diameter; 2 1/4" in height, boxed.  There is a hallmark on bottom of box, "S.T" inside a diamond shape.  Excellent pre-owned vintage condition.
