NEW On/Off switch for many monitors many 15KHz TV type from

Philips & Acorn

Description:

The switch is available in two versions Pins or Lugs. The Pins version is for soldering to a PCB with the pins going through the PCB as normal. The lugged version is for wire connection but can modified as shown in the last photo if PCB mounting is required. If you are not sure if you require Pins or Lugs then as the lugged version is easier to use modified for pins rather than the pin version used for wire connection we suggest going for the this lugged version. We currently have both versions.

The switch may need adapting for some monitors. When we fit them we often have to snap off the two/three unused connectors with red at their base and for through PCB soldering on some monitors the connectors need clipping to be pins (See photo) physically getting to the switch is often the most difficult part!

NB. The switch may be supplied with either a plastic or a metal mounting bracket, as shown in the photos, depending on what is available at the time. The mounting bracket may need replacing with the bracket used on the original switch. It normally slides off easily.

Most if not all Philips 8833 MK 1 use the lugged version.
Most if not all Philips 8833 MK 2 use the pin version.

Not sure which version the monitors in the following list require.
This is a listing for a NEW On/Off switch for many Monitors: Philips, Acorn, CVC40 ITT / 21K77 / TELEFUNKEN MP150 / MP212 / 3604 / 3035.

Believed to fit the following 1980s 14" monitors Acorn AKF11, AKF12, ADF32, AKF30, AKF40 and Philips 8833 mk 1. Also other monitors made by Philips but badged by others including Commodore Amiga 1084S and some ITT monitors. Also fits the Acorn AKF85

It would be very useful if buyers can let us know if their monitor originally had the pin or lug version, Please also give us the make and model number of the monitor.

This is not normally an easy fit as it is difficult to get to the underside of the motherboard.
If you do fit one we suggest that at the same time you reflow the solder on all the connections to the input sockets and the line output transformer (LOPT) as these are well known to go 'dry'. Self-fit not advised due to high voltages present inside monitors.
