Beautiful 3-Dimensional Plaque & Stand from Shapes of Clay Stan Langtwait 1980's. Mount St. Helen's Ash blended with native clays produced timeless treasures of the Northwest - blended to form the craggy look of volcanic lava to capture the mystique of the Northwest Mountains. Considered to be among the most beautiful examples of handmade sculptured pottery in the world. The originator was a logger (Stan) from the rugged mountains of Washington. A combination of 2 ancient techniques - inlay & pressing. The subtle differences in color, size & texture express the unique identity of each piece. Hand-painted. this piece depicts hot peppers, a southwest vase & bowl in multi-colors. Approximate dimensions - Plaque - 7.4" from top to bottom, 6.6" wide at widest point & .5" thick, The Stand - 3.5" from top to bottom, 2.6" wide at widest point & 3" from back to front. There is also a slot in the back of the Plaque if you should desire to hang. The back still has the original sticker still in place - as well as the COA telling of the history of the pieces.
