John Northwood, (born 1836, Wordsley, Staffordshire,
England—died 1902), English glassmaker, a technical
innovator who
sparked a resurgence of British interest,
He made the first successful reproduction of the famed Portland Vase
A PAIR OF UNIQUE ENAMELED CAMEO PORTRAIT VASE'S
ALMOST 9 1/2 " Tall. Possibly Vaseline Glass
There are no cracks or repairs there is A
few glass scratches, some very minor paint loss.
They Display Beautifully, I would say RARE.
THESE CAME FROM AN ESTATE IN N.Y. Long Island,
After talking to the great grandson the neighbor told
him, that his great grandmother told her friend A neighbor
these were very early John Northwood. Look at Vase on
RIGHT bottom 1/4" from top can you see SIGNATURE
WOW AFTER MORE RESEARCH:
THEY ARE BY JOHN NORTHWOOD.
I Think this was made C.1845 to 1877 BY JOHN NORTHWOOD
While working for T. Webb AS CAMEO SIGNED ON BOTTOM now
look under the RICHARDSONS GLASS.
