ABOUT DIXEY INSTRUMENTS LTD.

Dixey can trace its origins to 1775 which makes them older than the United States.
Established as opticians and lens makers Dixey soon began to make instruments for Doctors and Surgeons who specialised in ophthalmic disorders. With the expansion of the British Empire Dixey began to trade throughout the world, establishing links with Commonwealth countries that are still maintained.
As a contractor to H.M. Government since the 19th century they provide ophthalmic equipment and instruments to the Armed Forces, the prison servfce and to many Universities and teaching Hospitals.
They have supplied and supported the NHS since it began, working with many distinguished surgeons to improve instrument design and reliability.
The expansion of worldwide aid in the 20th century has led to increasing involvement with NGOs, international aid organisations and charities based in Europe and North America. They currently ship ophthalmic materials to almost two hundred countries throughout the globe.
