You don't need to read this 1st paragraph if you have read it before. This is a home recording reel to reel my dad big Bill Korst (a discographer and noted expert on vintage Jazz music) made probably between 1945-83 -he has passed away and I never really was able to get together on him on these homemade -- extremely rare music in most cases (mostly broadcasts / air checks live performances and transcriptions I believe)-  I am going have to go with the written pages he left on the reel boxes--and a couple small booklets he wrote with the contents. I suspect my dad would have filled these tapes up as much as possible with music, he did not waste space--they could be only half full--but I think he liked to get these reels maxed if possible. My brother played many of these and he noted that many to most of these played fine until about halfway though then began to slow and not play right. I talked to an expert on reel to reel players and he seemed to think that was a bad belt--common on old reel to reel players-- causing that playback problem. These reel to reels have always been stored in 60 to 70 degree areas (mostly closets) forever--never stored in a basement or anything like that. I am selling these as is with NO RETURNS--I can't have people recording these then sending them back. I have sold 30 or so of these reels--no complaints yet on the play.
This one is in a Polyester Concert Box 6 inch, 1 mil, 1/4 inch x 1800 feet, "normal" reel tape --this has some condition concerns--this is darker tape then normal almost a black--a dark brown color--probably just this specific tape--just mentioning the darkness of this tape---this is German Nazi Propaganda c1941-42 Luke (im sure it is Lutz or Ludwig) Templin and his Orchestra (1 song is So You Left Me for the Leader of a Swing Band (actually "the soviets") Charlie And His Orchestra Ludwig "Lutz" Templin (June 18, 1901 - March 7, 1973) was a German saxophonist, bandleader and arranger. Originally from Düsseldorf, Templin was initially a violinist in dance orchestras and led his own orchestra, which played in the Berlin region in the late 1930s. From 1940, Templin became known as the leader of the propaganda swing band "Charlie and His Orchestra", which re-enacted American jazz standards in versions arranged by Templin during world war II on behalf of the Ministry of Propaganda. As bandleader, Templin was officially allowed to listen to the otherwise forbidden enemy transmitters in order to be able to use the swing music in his versions and arrange it as jazzy as possible. At that time, Templin's arrangements were played by numerous German and European musicians, who were among the elite of jazz and entertainment music outside the USA at that time. + Glenn Miller German Broadcasts 1944 ? with Ilsa German “Ilse Weinberger” .
