The Star of David comes from King David's shield that he took with him to lead in battle. Six points were connected, the same six points that you will find as the ancient 'contract' by cutting a pomegranate in half, and pressing the fruit down on a surface to symbolize a contract between two people. David connected these six point and thus the 'Star' was born. 

Only G-d can make a covenant, however, and David's shield bore this ancient symbol, preceding his victories.

In 1948 the rebirth of the nation of Israel, the star has carried the dual significance of representing both the state of Israel, and the jewfish community.

It is large at 1.5" in diameter, heavy at 11.6 grams, has a double 'pass through' bail, and is textured with fire! The 4c natural water or heaven blue opal is a doublet measuring in at half an inch. It rests slightly above the frame giving the weaved arms of the Star great dimension.
