U.S. Navy Whidbey Island Class (LSD) is a class of dock landing ship operated by the United States Navy since 1985.  This class of vessels is fully equipped to transport U.S. Marine Corps vehicles and V-22 Ospreys.  The vessel can hold four LCAC hovercraft for amphibious operations and its shallow draft is well suited for coastal operations.
