How to sail instructions included. You can teach yourself the basics in an afternoon.
Portable and easy to store: Every single part of the sail kit folds or breaks down into less than 4-foot length and the whole sail kit can fit in an optional 4-foot bag, simlar to a golf travel bag.
What's included: This is the basic version of the sail kit, but it includes everything you need to sail except a canoe, wind, water and lifejackets. It includes: 45 SF Sail, mast, spars, frame, clamps, leeboards, stabilizer pontoons on outrigger arms, steering oar crossbar, and one steering oar and oarpin. Also included are assembly instructions and how-to-sail instructions.
Not included but available: Sail kit bag available for $35 additional. Second steering oar for $49. Substitution of larger 55 SF sail and taller/stronger mast for $159. Choose any of the sail color schemes pictured. Just tell us which one you want. White with multicolor stripes? Plain white? Black with skull and crossbones? Blue, white and yellow? If we don't get a request we will choose for you.
If you have an "Adventure" or "Passage" canoe from Mad River you have to tell us so we can send you the special clamps these polyethylene molded canoes require. In 10 years of doing this, these are the only canoe models we have encountered that require something special. Other Mad River models are fine with standard clamps.
Shipping note: We generally fulfill canoe sail kit orders in 2 shipments arriving on different days. One shipment is the pontoons and the other is the rest of the kit. So don't worry when one arrives without the other.
