The opening is in the back. The larger part of the collar goes in the front. Back fabric covered hook and eye clasps.

You decide how you want to attach the collar to your outfit. 

• add loops to attach to buttons that are sewn inside the collar of your shirt, sweater or dress.
• baste-stitch it straight onto the collar and just remove for washing.
• just wear on top, since there is a hook and eyelet closure

It's recommended that you add little loops to the collar and buttons to the inside of your main piece (sweater, dress, top) and then attach with the loops. You need to adjust it to fit the piece you are wearing so adding the loops ahead of time wouldn't be helpful for you- you would have to redo it.

WASHING:

• hand wash in cold water
• gentle soap for delicates
• do not wring
• hang dry 
• iron on low
