An impressive work concerning portraits of emperors on Roman currency, includes bibliography, illustrated with images of hundreds of coins. This work is focused primarily on the Gordian dynasty, from 235 to 285 AD, covering the emperors Maximinus, Gordian I, Gordian II, Pupienus Maximus, Balbinus, Gordian II, Philip the Arab, Philip II, Decius, Trebonianus Gallus, Aemilian, Valerian, Gallienus, Claudius II Gothicus, Quintillus, Aurelian, Tacitus, Florian, Probus, Carus, Numerian, and Carinus. There are also representative examples of coins of Uranius Antoninus and Elagabalus.

VERY RARE. A search of the web finds only two examples of this book. One priced at $1,350.00 and the other, $1,485.00.

VERY GOOD. Some wear to the gilt titles on the cover and spine. Text and plates are very good, clean and bright. No markings or writing in the book. Hard to imagine finding a better example of this very rare book.
