Prague is an amazing city filled with great restaurants and
wonderful locations to visit. The cobble stone streets will wear down your feet
if you’re unprepared, but you won’t notice it until you get home. You will be
so taken with this city; there will be nothing else on your mind.
To start, make sure you wonder down to the old town square. If you
plan it right, find a local Hotel like the Hotel Hastal that is minutes from
the square. Of course, in the other direction, you will find new Prague. There
are many spots like this, centrally located between old town and all its
grandeur, and new Prague with its clubs and night life. They are not hard to
find.
Then, go there. Look around at all the people. Prague is a slow
start. The day is mellow and as the evening arrives, the town square transforms
into an amazing array of people, street musicians and shops where you can
wonder.
Of course, don’t forget the Hard Rock Café Prague. Just a moment
away, tucked one street behind old town square. Then, continue on to the
Charles Bridge. It is a tradition. All streets will lead you there. If not
sure, ask, and someone will point you in the right direction.
Prague is one of those cities you never forget. No matter where
you go, what you see, you never quite see anything like Prague. It is a
location that keeps people returning year after, and if you are one of those
people, I need not explain. As you plan, make sure you put Prague on your list
of must see world locations, it will never disappoint you. Because Prague is Prague!

Hotel Hastal Old Town Prague
I have wondered the streets
of Prague at different times in my life. My favorite area is old town square
because of all the historical essence around me. Also, old town is just a skip
away from many other areas. If you are like me, and you want to see the old
part of Prague, The Hotel Hastal is for you. It is very reasonable and
centrally located in old town Prague. I have stayed there several times and
consider it a perfect spot for the urban wonderer.
It is not a big Hotel and
there is always a small group because there are only about thirty five rooms.
The morning buffet is never filled with a heard of people fighting you for a
plate. I consider the meals to be reasonable, and the free morning buffet is
great. It is family oriented, and there is a small bar inside the Hotel.
To start, I recommend you
request the Hotel Hastal airport shuttle. They pick you up at the airport and
get you to the front door at a very reasonable price. After a long flight, it
was great to see our driver Michael, standing there with our names written on a
big sheet of card board. It was great. This service alone is worth its weight
in gold. Prague is not like Italy, where there are hundreds of cabs flying
around. The shuttle services are more professional to me in Prague, and The
Hotel Hastal has one of the best I have ever seen. When we left, we had to be
at the airport for a seven o’clock flight. Subtract several hours for getting
through customs and checking in our bags, and we needed a shuttle in the middle
of the night to play it safe. Michael was there waiting for us. I can’t tell
you how reliable it was for us to have this service. Especially going home and
needing to be at the airport for an early flight. With this service, you pay
the Hotel a flat rate, but make sure to tip your driver.
Next, the rooms are
configured in odd but interesting ways. I love it. But, what I love more is how
thick the walls are. I have spent many nights at this Hotel and never heard
anyone but me, myself and I. This last round I went with some friends who had a
room next to mine. I never heard them and they never heard me. The walls are
thick and I appreciate the privacy!
Then, out the door you go.
You are within walking distance of a lot of amazing sights. As you walk out the
door, one good tip is to know there is a small convenience store three doors
down from the Hotel. Coming and going, it is always a good spot to buy snacks
and stuff for your room.
As you walk down the street,
after about a hundred yards, hang a left and you are right at the town square.
From there you can find the Astronomical clock, wonder a street over and step
into the Hard Rock Café-Prague for lunch. After a fun meal, follow the crowd to
the Charles Bridge.
Prague starts slow in the
morning. As the day goes by it amps up. By the evening, it is a different
place. I appreciated be so close to all the action and having a room at the
Hastal. We were able to wonder around, go back to our rooms, take a nap and
freshen up, rest, and then hit the town in the evening.
For me, everything is about
location and when I visit Prague, The Hotel Hastal is my home away from home!

FOR THINGS TO DO IN PRAGUE?
Dresden Kutscher…
After wondering around for
hours and taking tread off your shoes, if you are interested in a huge meal,
this is the place for you. It is quaint, great, fun, and relaxed. The
facilities are clean and the suds are good. I would recommend the hardy meals part
of the menu and the potatoes are excellent.
This is an easy location to
find. If you walk along the water, you will run into it.
I also like that it is
comfortable and you get a lot of space at your table. The waitress communicated
to me in English and I was made to feel right at home. After the meal, turn
left and walk along the corridor to experience a variety of interesting shops
and souvenir locations. This is a must stop on your journey.
Prague – Malostranska
This is a local spot and
when the locals show, you know you have found a place where you can find good
food. When we were wondering around Prague, we asked local shop keepers where
to go, they sent us in the right direction.
This is a good place to take
a load off your feet. You may be coming or going to the Charles Bridge, but
this spot will hit the spot either way. The blend of foods is intense. They mix
a variety of spices with local cuisine. I would recommend anything on the menu
because it is so great!
Chesky
When walking around Chesky Kumlov,
you will come across the Traveler’s Pub tucked away in a corner of the main
square. Chesky is a small town and this is not a difficult place to find.
Sometimes they can move a
bit slow because they are very busy. But, they are also very good. It might be
more tradition and style, but don’t go in there expecting to rush in and out.
It is an experience! The walls are hundreds of years old and the atmosphere is
unique and amazing. I would recommend this location to anyone with an appetite
for good food and excellent environments to have a meal.
