Gorham Co. Book Salads 1917 NYC 5th Ave rare small Art Nouveau leather book

(Old Books, Early 20th Century Books, Americana, Recipes, Salad Recipes).

The Gorham Book of Salads.
Published 1917, New York by Gorham Inc., 5th Ave. Printed by Livermore & Knight Company.
89 pages. Text in English. Nicely printed on hand-made paper with deckled edges.

Rare New York City promotional booklet, bound in a floral vine art nouveau binding. Text printed on lovely watermarked hand-made paper with chain lines.

Pocket-sized thin leather binding, art nouveau style embossed lettering within a flowing floral linear patterns front cover.

This scarce little booklet is physically over 100 years old and shows signs of handling and time. Cover is rubbed and worn with surface scuffing or thin scrapes to leather, contents are still fresh in appearance, a few scattered light small old age stains from when someone inserted leaves or a flower, etc.

Binding gently age worn, leather rubbed but still supple, book remains overall clean, nice looking, attractive as an object. Book should be handled with care, nicer in person than it looks on a digital screen.

Text block paper is gently toned, light to moderate scattered age spotting or light staining from small inserted organic plant matter long ago, internally still well preserved, tight, sound.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.

Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this quite rare little antique item survives. The reduced size and small type face approach miniature in feel.

Book Measures c. 5" H x 3 1/4" W.
