Mrs. Sliney 'joined the Army' in 1915 when she married a young cavalry Officer.
She details her experiences at Presidios in San Francisco and Monterey.  Being

stationed in Pre-WWI West Point.  Living in Hawaii, and the Philippine Islands. Her husband served with General Stillwell in the Second World War and he liasoned with Lord Mountbatten, Chang Kai Shek, and other notable world leaders. Both of Mrs. Sliney's sons graduated from West Point and served in WWII.

This is a very rare look into The Old Army.
