2 VINTAGE CLAY PERUVIAN STATUES / FIGURINES

This unique husband (8") and wife (7 1/4") appear to be watching the sky for rain, stars or possibly UFO's.  

Found these wonderful statues in an estate sale here in Atlanta. Doing research, they appear to be from Chulucanas, Peru or created in that style. The internet gave a little info about the famous pottery area: Chulucanas ceramics have as their ancestral heritage the Simbilá potters, who came to Chulucanas to settle and who used ancestral techniques from Tallán and the Vicus Culture.

 The owner had inherited these but we do not have an age.  We cannot find an artist.  Love the folk art feel and the unusual postures.  

Condition:  See one chip on the bottom of the male shoes, please see pics.  No cracks.  Last owner had these with a succulent plant, which looked awesome, but water spotted the paint.  Please see pics.  Price reflects these imperfections.
