Original Oil on board showing a gentleman, perhaps a rabbi, with long grey beard and black kippah, entitled to verso: "Czadick" (The Righteous.) Behrmann studied at the Academy of Munich from 1900-1904 and later in Paris. He traveled widely in Europe, North Africa and the Near East, and exhibited in Palestine, Morocco, New York and Hamburg. The artist died under the Nazis in the Bialystok ghetto in Poland in 1942. Period gilt gesso frame with velvet mat.

The interior glass has some fog, just needs to be removed and cleaned.
