From the front end page - “Warrior, Savage, Giant–with Muscles Like Fluid Oak...” “That was Salathiel Albine...a man as big as the flaming frontier he fought for...strong as the bond of blood between brothers...fearless in battle–and in love! Though raised as a Shawnee, Sal’s heart still beat with the blood of his white fathers. And as men battled for a narrow corridor of earth, Sal sought to master the ways of the white man–and woman! He learned much from the lovely hostage Jane Sligo, from courageous Captain Ecuyer, from the bawdy flame-haired vixen, Bustle McQuiston. But he learned most from the dark forests and the black mountains of the Allegheny country...where he helped to build a new nation and to hold the lifeline between the Forest and the Fort.

Condition - The book is clean, complete and tightly bound. The cover is unfaded. Front cover has noticeable but mild creases that are barely evident on the inside of the front cover. Creases on the back cover are lengthy but mostly hidden against the illustrated background and as these creases are inward toward the support offered by the spine edge the overall cover firmness is not significantly affected. The spine edge has stress creasing as expected with the thickness of the book. The spine edge is fully intact with all print clear and legible. There are no markings in the book. Pages are age toned but supple. An about one-half to three quarter portion of the front end page is torn away at the pages upper outer corner and two other pages have very small edge tears. There are no missing, loose, creased or marked pages. The book is in good+ condition.
