Panorama bus with trailer (MB O 319)

WIKING founder Friedrich Peltzer had the right hand when choosing role models - he received the posthumous compliment for it. Especially when you see what has become of the panoramic bus half a century later. Day-trippers enjoyed a convivial atmosphere in the O 319, with real living room comfort included. And if you were crossing the Alps at a snail's pace, there should still be plenty of space for luggage and tents. For this purpose, a trailer was attached without further ado and as was common practice at the time. WIKING even designed the curtains on the window pillars for the O 319 - a nice upgrade of contemporary custom and style. The bus companies ordered the luxury version of the Mercedes-Benz O 319 almost exclusively in an elaborate two-color design, which was based on the design of the large coaches. The roof edge glazing and the extensive glazing made the Mercedes-Benz O 319 a sought-after minibus. The series, developed with a permissible total weight of up to 3.9 tons, was presented at the IAA in 1955. From then on, many new bus companies started choosing the O 319 because it was ideal for the prosperous business of company outings. In 1967 the last O 319 rolled off the assembly line in Düsseldorf.
