This listing is for one of two almost identical reindeer that I have for sale, except this one is marked Japan, and the other one is Occupied Japan.  It is made from thin celluloid, and it dates from 1950 to 1959.  The color is a slightly iridescent pearly beige, with slightly darkened glitter.  It goes great with all kinds of Santas!  Thin celluloid was invented in the late 1800s, but it was highly flammable.  In the 1920s, Irwin invented a thicker non-flammable celluloid, and by the 1930s, US manufacturers could no longer make items for sale in the US from thin celluloid.  Items imported from other countries, however, could still be made from thin celluloid.  This fellow stands 3 1/2" tall, and is 4" long, and 1" wide.  Its really difficult to find these type of pieces that are undamaged.  Sunlight causes them to deteriorate, as does heat.  The thin celluloid becomes brittle over time, so they are fragile and hard to find in this condition.
