It features a hinged lid that protects the glass housing when not in use, and a rosewood storage box is included for safe storage. It's dial has vivid and clear 360 degree marks in addition to cardinal points. There is small crescent cutout that makes it easy to lift the lid. A needle lock lever is also built in, allowing you to lock the position in place or it can be used to prevent the needle from swinging while not in use.
