FYI:

We get the question frequently about what the listed thermostat temperature means.

Thermostats have a “rated” temperature (such as 160F, 170F, or 180F) This is the temperature the thermostat will start to open, releasing heated coolant from the engine into the radiator. The thermostat will fully open once the coolant gets another ten or fifteen degrees warmer.

The posted photos are Ebay stock photos. Please ignore any of the pictures showing an attached rubber seal. That does not come with this particular thermostat part number. However it does come with a standard thermostat o-ring seal.

If this is not clear please contact me for assistance. Also, just as an FYI, I have tried to remove the stock photos but Ebay listing tool does not allow that for some reason. Bottom line, you get an original MotoRad thermostat and o-ring seal.

    Question: Why do I need a high-flow thermostat?

    Great choice for today's high performance engines. Standard flow thermostats flow up-to 37 gallons of coolant per minute (GPM).. The high flow thermostat can flow up-to 56 GPM. This is a significant increase in coolant flow and a potential of increased heat extraction from your radiator.

    MotoRad is the only thermostat manufacturer that produces true "High Flow" thermostats for today's higher performance engines. The wider opening allows up to 50% more coolant flow. This causes a reduction in engine warm up times, allows trapped air in the cooling system to escape, and stabilizes the pressure of the cooling system overall.
