This listing is for a wonderful vintage Lamberton MATCH STAND. The distributor Frederick & Nelson is associated with the historic, upscale department store located in Seattle, Washington. Billed as the largest and finest store west of the Mississippi and north of San Francisco, Frederick & Nelson was founded in 1891 by D.E. Frederick and Nels B. Nelson. Topmarked with the initials "HP" --an intertwined tan brown "H" and a dark orange "P." There is a bow, torch and swag design -- sometimes described as the "dragonfly" design -- repeated around the border with two green pinstripes. Several manufacturers produced this "dragonfly" design, including Iroquois, Sterling & the Maddock Pottery Co.
