These are vintage and never worn (excellent condition) early era late 1960's basketball shoes, sponsored by Jack Twyman and Ted Williams, both under contract by Sears to create and sell sporting goods.  Finding a pair of these vintage basketball shoes, in superb condition, is difficult...I have not come across another pair.  Note that the box has wear from storage, with a few staples in the box.  The shoes, however, are in superb condition...never worn.  Please see the pictures.  The length of the sole, using a ruler, is 11 inches.  There is a mark on the right shoe in the front, which can be seen in the photos, and may be a manufacturing issue/defect.  These shoes would be great for a sneaker collection or one featuring old sports equipment/memorabilia.

Google "Jack Twyman" and "Maurice Stokes" and you'll see why Mr. Twyman made the greatest assist ever in professional sports.  Athletes at that time were tough as "nails," and the same held true when the time came for them to take care of their team members.  The NBA should require all incoming players to read about these two remarkable athletes.  Both men were great athletes, team members, and patriots.  RIP gentlemen...
