Description-
This iron tawa is entirely handmade from traditional pure iron, therefore the surface will not be completely smooth & may contain marks/bumps. A well known utensil in Asian cooking is this authentic round concave pan commonly known as a Indian Tawa or Tava. Crafted from heavy-duty iron is this tawa with a concave centre and wooden handle, for you to prepare/cook/heat up many indian flatbreads i.e. chapati, roti, paratha, dosa, or even crepes and pancakes.

To attain optimum use of this iron tawa, it should be prepared & seasoned with little oil before use .
Put the surface with oil coating before using as it is pure iron. Following the preparation tips, this oil coating will get removed and it will be ready to use.
This traditional iron tawa is moulded into a concave shape, where it has a slightly deep centre and upraised sides to allow you to cook in many different ways. Combination of both features shall quickly spread heat and circulate evenly, so that flatbreads are always cooked all the way round, but you can also add small quantity oil to the centre and cook classic indian street tawa foods i.e. pulao, pau bhaji, chicken & more.

Material
  1. This concave tawa with wooden handle is crafted from durable heavy-duty iron, to provide steadiness, fast even heat distribution when on the stove and a long life cooking utensil.
  2. The more you season the iron surface, the more better and easier it will be to work with this tawa.
  3. It is securely attached with wooden handle to protect your hands from heat and make it easy to manoeuvre.

Cleaning

  1. Rinse the tawa with hot water. Gently lift off or scrub away food particles with a non metallic scrubber.
  2. Rinse, dry the surface and to finish drying, place over medium to high flame and 'burn', to sterilise it ready for your next cooking session.
  3. It is best not to wash with detergents, as it will take away all your hard work with seasoning.
