DESCRIPTION / CONDITION / PROVENANCE

This is a beautiful antique T & V Limoges France hand painted porcelain plaque, with a well-executed portrait of a Monk drinking. We believe the plaque is mounted in its original handmade wood frame. We also believe the plaque is signed by the artist; however, we are unable to see the signature due to the inset on the frame and we do not want to remove the piece. We did make out some of the writing on the back to come up with this conclusion. (Please see photos) Plaque has a number stamped on back as well as the Limoges hallmark. The condition of this piece is nice, could use a light cleaning and possibly remounting in frame as it is slightly loose. These pieces were acquired from a high-end world travelers' estate that had multiple unique antiques; from our understanding this person was a historian and antique collector.
