Publisher's decorative cloth bindings, gilt title lettering, gilt spine & cover decorations, embossed boards, all edges gilt.

Four volumes bound into two thick large heavy books.

Set is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition.

Bindings gently age worn, light rubbing, some minor scuffing or bet corners, signs of handling but nothing offensive or severe, remains overall sound, nice and attractive as a mid-19th century set.

Paper is gently toned, internally still clean, well preserved, tight, sound.

Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive.
