This is an antique sterling silver topped glass hatpin jar or hairpin jar. Assayed in Chester, England in 1901 the lid top is fully hallmarked on the inside for English silver. The lid features an etched Art Nouveau pattern. The base is cut glass. Overall in good condition just a bit of roughness to the bottom of the jar and slight dents to the top. It was make a great piece for the storage of small jewellery pieces.
