MARVEL COMICS
Marvel Cinematic Universe MCU Speculative Comic Book Key
The Inhuman leader BLACK BOLT gets his very FIRST ONGOING SOLO SERIES at the ripe old age of 43 -- and we say, "It's about time, Marvel!" A 'sleeper' when it first debuted in 2017, the twelve-issue run from SALADIN AHMED - the famed scribe of Miles Morales: Spider-Man - is now coming into its own, as Marvel Studios' likely inclusion of the ILLUMINATI in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel - as well as the forthcoming Disney+ Ms. Marvel series -- is giving the INHUMANS another chance at big-screen relevance.
Bolt, a founding member of the Illuminati, hasn't been revealed in any of the Doctor Strange teasers thus far, but we can't count an appearance by the character -- or by actor Anson Mount, who portrayed Black Bolt on ABC's Inhumans -- just yet. Everything depends on how faithful the film folks are to the Illuminati's founding roster from the comics, but chances are good Kevin Feige and Co. will stick close to the source material.
