You are purchasing a Diesel-Electric Train set by Marx. The train set /model number is 41831.
From the research I conducted, this train set was produced around 1959. I set the track up and the train runs good. The light on the front of the engine even comes on. This set did not come with the wire that attaches to the track to the transformer, so I used a piece of speaker wire, which works well. I will send it with this set.
This trains does have scratches and signs of wear, which is to be expected for being vintage and this old. This set comes with 8 curved pieces of track and 2 straight pieces which makes an oval track. See pictures of everything that comes with this set and the different cars that come with this set
