Blue Morpho Taxidermy Butterfly in 10 x 10 Box Frame (Morpho didius)

A beautiful very large Blue Morpho butterfly in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality acid-free conservation board. The Latin and common names are printed underneath the specimen.

The Blue Morpho belongs to the Papilionidae family of butterflies. The species was named by Carl Linnaeus in the 10th edition of Systema Naturae in 1758. Its wingspan reaches 13 centimetres (5 in).

The specimen will have had its body removed by the farm as they contain grease which destroys the wings.

Distribution: Morpho didius can be found in Central and South America and some parts of Mexico.
