Applications – the possibilities are endless!:

Soft furnishings, great for cushions and blankets

Upholstery

Home décor

The base colour of the velour is off-white and comes with a short pile which makes it ideal for sublimation printing; producing a vivid high-definition print and colour payoff - without the colour change in the fabric that you would get with velvet when coming into contact with it (i.e., moving it around and appearing ‘darker’ for example).

All of our sublimation fabrics have been tested using the dye sub transfer process. This process allows you to print an image or pattern of your choice, without the risk of losing your design to peeling – it becomes one with the fabric.  You can ofcourse use the fabric as is with no printing required.

All our digital polyester-based fabrics are OEKO-TEX Standard 100.

FAQ:

How have the fabrics been tested?

This artist velour has been tested using a highly-detailed sample image which you can see displayed above in the additional photos, and is capable of showing very fine, sharp detail without compromising the print or image.

Can The Fabric Centre print our designs ?

Yes we can, if you have a design ready to go, please get in touch. Minimum order on custom print designs is 5 metres.

Does the fabric come in one length?

Yes, all of our fabrics come in one continuous piece. For example, you enter ‘3’ in the metre quantity and ‘1’ in the half-metre quantity, you will receive a 3.5 metre length.

What’s the difference between Velour and Velvet?

Velour is actually the French word for Velvet. It has a shorter pile and doesn’t have the same sheen that velvet has.

While velour and velvet are very similar, they are often confused as the same material and used interchangeably. The weaving process differs slightly, as when weaving velour, the yarns are knitted into loops to make a pile weave. On the other hand, velvet is woven on a special loom which weaves two thicknesses of the fibre at the same time.
