Collection of Engraved Opera Portraits
An interesting collection of 19 engraved portraits of great opera singers of the nineteenth and early twentieth century. The attractive images, some hand-colored, produced with a variety of techniques, include portraits of Jenny Lind, Marie Desclauzas, Delphine Ugalde, Adelina Patti, and many other singers, as well as several actors and the opera composer Martin-Joseph Mengal. Many of the singers and actors are shown in celebrated roles. Some with foxing, toning, and mounting remnants; overall in very good condition. Ranging in size from 4 x 5 inches (10 x 13 cm) to 11 x 15.5 inches (28 x 39.5 cm).
