Engine Watchdog

Description:

DIN330 12V ENGINE GUARDIAN OVERHEATING GAUGE ALARM WITH 2 SENSORS TEMPERATURE FOR 2 SEPARATE ZONES

Take the wheel with confidence using our DIN330 12V Engine Watchdog, a reliable and innovative system designed to monitor your engine and prevent overheating.

What sets this apart? It's not just a temperature gauge; it's a vigilant guardian for your engine, equipped with two independent temperature sensors to monitor two separate zones.

Key Features:

·         Dual Monitoring: Two separate relays and sensors provide temperature control about 2 separate zones. When the temperature passes the maximum or minimum set points, the outputs can turn on and off any external device such as a fan.

·         Backup Overheating Alarm: The system doubles as a backup overheating alarm, offering extra assurance against heat damage by using both sensors in the same zone.

·         High-Temperature Alarm: Two separate alarms (buzzer and flash) for each sensor alert you when the temperature exceeds the alarm setpoint in one or both zones.

·         Real-time/accurate Temperature Calibration/Readings: Each sensor can be calibrated for precise readings and detect changes instantly with a precision of up to 0.1 degrees.

·         Wide Temperature Range: and can monitor temperature within a range of -30 to 300 °C (-22 to 572°F) degrees Celsius. This range is perfect for air-cooled engines, Transmissions, Gearboxes, Transfer Boxes, and Wet Exhausts (perfect for professional racing cars and can be installed by any handyman).

·         Easy Read Display: Two distinct color displays (red and blue) for each zone make monitoring a breeze.

·         Memory Setting: The system remembers your settings, even after being turned off (can be factory reset).

·         Maximum Temperature Records: The system keeps track of the highest temperature reached in each zone each time the engine is run.

·         Fahrenheit or Celsius: Customizable to your preferred temperature scale.

·         Timer Output Delay: The system includes output delays for Out1 and Out2 to ensure efficient operation.

Applications:

Motorcycles: Motorbikes can greatly benefit from the added protection against engine overheating, especially in high-performance or long-distance situations.

Recreational Vehicles (RVs): These vehicles often cover long distances and carry precious cargo; an engine watchdog can provide peace of mind.

Trucks: Long-haul trucks spend a lot of time on the road and can benefit from this device to help prevent breakdowns.

ATVs and Side by Sides: Off-road vehicles often operate in tough conditions, making engine protection essential.

Snowmobiles: Given the harsh conditions they operate in, these could use protection against engine overheating.

Snow Plows: These vehicles operate in harsh conditions, making the extra protection of an engine watchdog valuable.

Boats and Jet Skis: Personal watercraft can benefit from the added security of an engine watchdog.

Golf Carts: Particularly in warm climates, golf carts could use this kind of protection.

Lawn Mowers: High-end riding mowers or commercial lawn equipment can benefit from this technology.

Food Trucks: These mobile restaurants depend heavily on their engines running smoothly, making an engine watchdog a smart investment.

Generators: Protect generators from overheating, particularly in remote locations where maintenance can be difficult.

Farming Equipment: Tractors, combines, and other farming machinery could use this technology to avoid costly repairs and downtime during important harvest seasons.

Construction Equipment: For those who operate their own excavators, bulldozers, and other heavy-duty construction machinery, this device can offer protection.

Forklifts: In warehouses and distribution centers, this device can keep forklifts in operation and avoid delays.

Mining Machinery: For those working in the mining industry, this technology would be beneficial in the extreme conditions where mining equipment operates.

Racing Cars: These vehicles are pushed to their limits and can greatly benefit from an engine watchdog.

School Buses: For private schools or districts with their own fleet, keeping school buses running safely and efficiently is crucial.

Airport Ground Vehicles: For private airport operators, tugs, belt loaders, and other ground support equipment could use this device to ensure consistent operation.

Military Vehicles: While not a common consumer purchase, tanks, armored personnel carriers, and other military vehicles could benefit from this technology, especially in harsh conditions.

How it works:

1.      The first sensor connects under any suitable bolt (a tappet cover bolt or thermostat housing bolt) near the engine's cylinder head or engine block (like a washer), enabling you to see temperature fluctuations in real-time as you drive. If the engine overheats, an alarm triggers on the controller, and it starts buzzing while flashing “HHH” immediately. Note out1 can be used to power an external device such as a cooler or fan in conjunction with the alarm as seen in the second page of the Wiring and Manual Document.

2.      The second sensor connects under any suitable radiator bolt, upper radiator hose, coolant system, or transmission, again triggering the same alarm described in Step 1 if the temperature exceeds a given threshold. Note out2 can now be used to power the same or a separate external device since the controller has 2 separate relay outputs for each sensor.

3.      The second sensor can also connect to another area of the engine cylinder head in order to apply the Backup Overheating Alarm feature and control overheating in all areas of the cylinder head.

4.      The main unit fits under the dash (Compact size – 75mm (W) x 86mm (H) x 35mm (D) mm, plus mounting tabs) and the power connects to 12V DC by wire.

5.      The overheating alarm can be set based on the engine's normal running temperature. Simply note the highest temperature your engine reaches during normal driving, then set the alarm to go off at a few degrees higher.

Our Engine Watchdog is a handyman's dream come true and can assist in preventing overheating due to coolant loss, hose leaks, malfunctioning thermostats, blockages, pump failures, oil system problems, and airflow restrictions.
