Two beautiful medieval leaves, with clear bright colors and a highly decorated "O".  The combination of colors red, blue, green and magenta with gold leaf highlights and three highly decorated gold dots indicate the leaves are likely from a breviary produced in Lombardy, Italy sometime during the 15th century. The foliage and colors suggest a style highly influenced by the Master of the Vitae Imperatorum.

Leaf 1:
Recto: Psalms: 108(15) - 108(31).
Verso: Psalms 108(31) - 110(5).
2 columns of 29 lines, with script in faded brown ink on vellum. Floriated headlines in alternating red/blue coloring. Incredible "O" in deep green/magenta with gold leaf highlights at the beginning of Psalm 109. Three highly decorated gold leaf dots adjacent to the foliage. Verso script is in slightly better condition than recto.

Psalm 109 Begins:
"Psalmus David. Dixit Dominus Domino meo: Sede a dextris meis, donec ponam inimicos tuos scabellum pedum tuorum."
(The Lord said to my Lord: Sit thou at my right hand: Until I make thy enemies thy footstool.)

Leaf 2:
Recto -  Psalms: 35(4) - 36(6)
Verso - Psalms: 36(6) - 36(22)
2 columns of 29 lines, with script in faded brown ink on vellum. Floriated headlines in alternating red/blue coloring. Recto script is in slightly better condition than verso.

Leaf begins with:
"Verba oris ejus iniquitas, et dolus; noluit intelligere ut bene ageret."
(The words of his mouth are iniquity and guile: he would not understand that he might do well.)
