Description

This is a pre-war Master Tone style custom made banjo.

There is no record of the maker's name or date anywhere, but according to the previous owner, it was made by TRAVIS DAVIS.
We cannot confirm this in person, and there is no mention of this model on the current DAVIS Banjo website.

Although some of the detail workmanship may appear to be crude and full of handmade touches, this instrument has a good sound and is easy to play and set up.
The neck and resonator are maple with a rosewood fingerboard.
It has a fiddle-shaped head with a GIBSON logo. White pearl hearts and flowers inlay.
It has 5-star pegs, nickel-plated one-piece flange with maple 3-piece wood rim and no-plated tone ring set.
It has been nailed at the 7th, 9th, and 10th frets.
There is no fret wear and it appears to have not been used much.
The lacquer finish shows almost no scratches on the painted surface.
The tone is bright and clear, with a rich resonant sound.
The sound is delicate, crisp, and firm with good volume.
Comes with a general-purpose hard case.
