Aiming to reproduce "amp-just" operability

Many of Blackberry JAM's pedals are designed to reproduce the sound and operation of existing tube amps. While many pedals from other manufacturers claim to be "amp-like" and reproduce the sound of their amp models, Blackberry JAM's "amp-like" pedals are not only sounding but also operating exactly like an amp. This is because Blackberry JAM has been consistently pursuing "the feeling of playing directly through an amp" since the launch of the brand, and our unique circuit design "can reproduce the same linear response to guitar controls as directly through an amp".

We feel that the borderline between amp-like and non-amp-like effect pedals is whether or not a usable crunch (clean) can be obtained when the volume on the guitar side is turned down.

For example, during a session, I might turn down the volume on the guitar side while I am in charge of backing vocals. Then, when it is my turn to solo, I quickly turn up the volume. People who play directly through an amp do this as a matter of course. On the other hand, when distortion is created on the pedal side, the same thing will often result in a muffled sound and the guitar sound will be lost in the ensemble. It is difficult to create a "sound with a core," a "sound with presence," and a "clear sound that does not get buried in the ensemble" unless you use the amp directly. Effects are only going to make it sound like that, but it is actually a long way from the real sound.

So, if an effect pedal has the same operability as when connected directly to an amp...in other words, if you can get a sound that can be used in any position, 10, 9, 8, 7, when the volume on the guitar side is turned down, that would be a revolutionary thing, don't you think? It is a compact effect pedal, but it feels just like an amp. The operability is just like an amp. The distortion created by turning down the volume on the guitar side will not be mangled and buried in the ensemble. The sound is very close to that of a tube amp, with a core, a good punch, and a sense of presence that is as close as possible to that of a phantom tube amp.
