Fujitsu MB501 (1GHz) or MB504 (520MHz) 8-DIP Frequency Divider / Prescaler

On offer are some very useful frequency dividers in an easily handled 8-pin DIP package.

[Update: Some of the MB501 are the L version. If this is important, I'll try to respond to requests. Most are MB501.]

Frequency counters have never been easier or cheaper to build, with modern microcontrollers and displays. However most can only count to perhaps 50 MHz, restricting their usefulness. The chips here will extend that range to either 520MHz or 1.1GHz depending on which you choose.

Each chip actually has 4 divide ratios selectable by pin wiring.

  1.1GHz MB501 supports  ÷ 64, 65, 128, 129
 520MHz MB504 supports  ÷ 32, 33, 64, 65

The pairs of ratios (eg 64/65) are for use with 'dual modulus' capable synthesizers, (like the TBB204 I'm also selling) allowing much finer frequency resolution. This is less relevant for frequency counter applications.

Both models use around 50mW (5V supply, 10mA) with a 1.6V p/p output swing. See datasheet for more details.

Not commonly available - worth having in the parts drawer!

About the Seller : RFPlus

I'm Jon, a lifelong hobbyist, professional engineer and now occasional seller on Ebay, having sent over 10,000 items around the world over the past 17 years. I am not a business/company despite Ebay's classification to the contrary, though I do have a lot of parts and gear which should go to a good home.

All parts for sale are my private property, in stock in Cornwall, Southwest UK, and ready to post to the world via Royal Mail, or if larger/heavier via your arrangement/collection. I post via UK First Class post: my P&P charge is at cost but I'm happy to combine multiple items in a package for that one charge. You may need to use the Ebay Cart (and request a total if Ebay miscalculates).

If there's a problem with anything, I can send a replacement order, refund your money or do whatever it takes to make you happy. I hope my feedback gives you the confidence that I'm good to deal with. Any questions, please ask!
