Edinburgh Date Mark 1751 Matching Set Of 3 Silver Caster's By Hugh Gordon ( 1751 to 1758 ) Also used as assay master's mark 1744-1758 . 

This is a set of three silver Caster's is made by Hugh Gordon of Edinburgh , Scotland  
 for Clan Lockhart ( old spelling : Locard or Lokart )  
Each Caster has a monogram of "Corda Serata Pando" (Corda Serrata Pando : I open locked hearts - a pun on the clan name) .
 
This set is all matching with a date mark of 1751.

 The maker's mark is the same as the assay's mark from 1744 to 1758. 
The larger Caster is usually for sugar while the two smaller Caster's are used for pepper and mustard. 
The measurements for the large Caster is approximately 7 5/8" tall, 2 1/2" diameter base, 5 1/8" diameter in the center (narrow part). The two smaller
Caster's are approximately 6 5/8" tall 2 1/8" diameter base, 5" diameter center (narrow part). The total weight for all three Casters is approximately 
579.8 grams.    

This set is previously owned. The set has light surface scratches and slight tarnish. The inside of each caster has wear. The outside
