Taxidermy East African Bush Locust in Box Frame (Phymateus aegrotus)

A Phymateus aegrotus in a handmade wooden frame mounted on high-quality acid-free conservation board. The Latin and common names are printed underneath the specimen.


As with other Phymateus species, it will raise and rustle it's wings when disturbed or attacked. It may also secrete a noxious fluid from it's thoracic joint. This locust feeds on highly toxic plants.
