Characteristics
Awarded the prestigious Award of Garden Merit by RHS, Allium Caerulium is a stunning ornamental onion.
This variety consists of dozens of small star-shaped bright blue flowers, forming a globe shaped cluster atop of sturdy stiff stems with narrow green leaves.
Prized for its true blue colour, Allium Caerulium flowers in the garden in late spring to early summer. Growing up to 30-60cm tall, Allium Caerulium forms dense, slowly-spreading clumps over time.
It naturalizes easily and will come back year after year! Since the leaves wither before the flowers appear, plant your Allium Caerulium with other mid-sized plants to hide the faded foliage.
Instructions for planting
- Plant 10cm deep and at least 5cm apart
- Easily grown in rich, sandy-gritty, dry to medium moisture, well drained soils
- Performs best in full sun
- Stunning in beds, borders, cottage gardens.
- Spectacular in large sweeping drifts. For best visual impact plant in groups of at least 10-15 bulbs
- Mixes beautifully with other late spring flowering bulbs and creates stunning combination with pink or white varieties (Delphiniums, Peonies or Irises)

'Promise To Grow' This policy was brought in as we realise a lot of gardeners are optimistic, especially when buying products (live plants) online, as you cannot see before purchase. This means any plants from Flora Bulbs that do not grow within 1 year of purchase (given all the required planting instructions are followed), will either be refunded or replaced. We offer this promise as we are confident in our products and our customers should have peace of mind when shopping.

We will endeavour only to offer products which we expect to have in stock and available for ordering, but all items are subject to availability. Please ensure that you open the packaging immediately upon receipt, and carefully read through the instruction leaflet provided. It is not uncommon for some discolouration of the foliage to take place while the plants are contained in the dark during transit, but rest assured that the plants will return to their normal, healthy colour within a few days. Similarly, if on opening the package the plants appear to be limp, simply stand them in water and they will soon revive. If after a couple of days the plants do not perk up, please bring the problem to our attention using the eBay secure message service. All rights, including copyright are owned or controlled by us. Returns
Free returns on all orders within 30 days of purchase.
Please always message us through eBay first stating the reason of return, as in 90% of cases the issue is resolved.
This saves time, but also prevents plants from wilting/drying out due to long periods in transit.
