Antique 1800s Carpet Bag Tapestry Folding Foot Rest for Carriage or Sleigh?

A used Foot rest.  

It is unusual, in that there is carpet bag tapestry on both the top & bottom of the stool.

Folds down nicely.

The heavy metal / iron frame is not maker stamped, that I can see.  Condition of the frame of the stool is worn, showing wear and scuffing, dings, and scratches from use and storage.

Condition of the fabric is overall nice, but there are wear / slight tear areas on the sides of one stool section (see photo details), the other side is complete.  Showing use and wear, as would be typical for the age.
