A stunning  set of 9 large Matryoshka Russian Nesting Dolls - hand-painted depicting scenes from Russian fairy tales.

Signed on bottom "Russia - Moscow" and initials I.P.

Gilded, lacquered, amazing detail.

The smallest doll measures just under 1", the largest - about 9.5".

Wood on the largest doll has expanded, so it's hard to open it if it's fully closed. It will be shipped half closed to ensure the buyer is able to open it and display smaller dolls. Might take as little as sanding off a bit of untreated wood to ensure smooth closure but I will leave this up to the buyer.
