  • "Gran Turismo 5" is a racing video game developed by Polyphony Digital, published by Sony Computer Entertainment, and released for the PlayStation 3 in 2010; the fifth main installment, and the tenth overall in the "Gran Turismo" video game series. The game marks the first entry in the series with online races with support for up to 16 players. A damage model has been included with variations of damage depending on the car. Over 1,000 cars, 29 different locations, 77 different tracks, and a track generator are available in the game. Dynamic time and weather effects make their debut in the series. World Rally Championship, NASCAR and Super GT licenses are utilized for the first time in the Gran Turismo series.
  • "MotorStorm" is a racing video game developed by Evolution Studios, published by Sony Computer Entertainment, released for the Sony PlayStation 3 in 2007; prequels to "MotorStorm: Pacific Rift" (2008), and "MotorStorm: Apocalypse" (2011). The events of the game take place at the fictional MotorStorm Festival in Monument Valley. The objective of the game is to win a series of off-road races and to be the overall winner of the Festival. MotorStorm holds the Guinness World Record for the biggest variety of vehicles in a racing game (players are in control of seven different types of vehicles throughout the game: bikes, ATVs, buggies, rally cars, racing trucks, mudpluggers and big rigs). Each race requires the player to choose a particular vehicle type and often race against many of the other vehicles. Every track (9 total) has many different ways of getting through it, each catering to a specific class of vehicle thereby making the racing field more even. The events in the game occur in real-time, such as the mud effects, tire marks, and crashes (for example, if a car loses a wheel, it will remain where it lands for the duration of the race).
  • The PlayStation 3 (PS3) is a home video game console developed by Sony Computer Entertainment. The successor to PlayStation 2, it is part of the PlayStation brand of consoles. It was first released in November 2006, and is a part of the seventh generation of Sony video game consoles. It was the first console to use Blu-ray Disk technology as its primary storage medium. The console was the first PlayStation to integrate social gaming services, including the PlayStation Network, as well as the first to be controllable from a handheld console, through its remote connectivity with PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita. PlayStation 3 launched in North America with 14 titles, and have since launched their budget range of PlayStation 3 titles, known as the "Greatest Hits". There have been over 595 million games sold for PlayStation 3, and the last game released on the PlayStation 3 was "Shakedown: Hawaii" in August 2020.
