The Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America introduced this little pocket prayer book in 1956 and it has gone on to become one of the most popular in the English-speaking world. It is divided into three general parts:

  1. The first contains the prayers for morning, mid-day and evening, as well as dozens of occasional prayers such as that before an icon of Christ, for married people, and for the sick.
  2. The second part consists of some general outlines of theology meant for personal reflection, such as "The Seven Grievous Sins" and "The Chief Aids to Penitence".
  3. The third part is the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom.
