Up for consideration is an antique Victorian celluloid glove box with a winter church and snow scene on top center of box is simply beautiful. The rest of celluloid covering on box is light hue black/grey with lavender and off white colored floral design. The celluloid is coming away from wood at top but not cracked or ripped. Just needs to be glued down lightly but I will leave that to buyer. The celluloid also has a Greek key design punches into it on front and sides. See pic. The inside of box is vintage old “hot” pink taffeta silk lined. The brass lock escutcheon is wonderful and has great patina. Works great too. The brass hinges on back are tight and lid is not loose. It measures 14 1/8” long x 5” wide. Top is 4 3/8” wide x 15 5/8” long. Inside is 1 3/8” deep. There is a small missing piece of the corner on one on base on one side. See pic. The bottom is covered in standard Victorian glove box paper over wood as seen on many and has some ink stamp on names on it which I can’t make out in several areas. Maybe area made not sure ? Paper on bottom also has some staining as shown in pics. Please review the pics for more information on condition etc. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
