Original vintage Soviet very large format movie (from the first release of the film in Soviet Union - 28 June 1956) poster for the film "Na podmostkakh stseny" - Soviet feature film based on D. Lensky's vaudeville "Lev Gurych Sinichkin" staged in 1956 by Konstantin Yudin. Classic vaudeville, one of the best in its genre. Film shooting took place in the old part (Trading Rows) of Kostroma, in Kasimov and the Valuevo estate

The poster has some slight discoloration and deterioration and paper loss at upper center, otherwise it is in a good overall collectable condition.

Russian Empire, mid-19th century. The aged, impoverished dramatic actor Lev Gurych Sinichkin wanders around the cities with his young daughter Lisa in search of work. They dream that Lisa will someday succeed on stage and become a famous actress.

Once in another provincial town, Lev Sinichkin, seeing on the theater poster the name of a familiar actress - Raisa Minichna Surmilova, tries with her help to attach her daughter to the theater. But a local prima donna with a quarrelsome character offers Lisa the place of a “person involved” - an ordinary actress in the crowd, and then completely refuses Sinichkin, not allowing any rivalry on stage.

Lev Gurych, who does not want to back down, resorts to trickery and deceit, trying to replace Surmilova with his Lisa at the next performance. Enraged Surmilova, who has great connections and high patrons, begins to take revenge ...
