MCU Disney+ Key: The First Appearance of El Aguila
Marvel Studios' She-Hulk series on Disney Plus is taking every opportunity to showcase Marvel's "deep cut" characters, many of which will be highlighted as members of a self-help group run by Emil Blonsky a.k.a THE ABOMINATION. Among these is the Bronze Age character inspired by the literary hero ZORRO: Alejandro Montoya (whose very name and appearance may have inspired the character Diego Montoya from the 1987 film, The Princess Bride), a Latin-American skilled swordsman and fencer and also a mutant, who uses objects like his sword to discharge electrical blasts. Known as EL AGUILA or THE EAGLE, his FIRST APPEARANCE here challenges not "Legal Eagle' JENNIFER WALTERS, but the comics' titular heroes LUKE CAGE POWER MAN and his buddy IRON FIST.
Will this obscure Marvel sword-fighter become, after KAMALA KHAN, the second confirmed Mutant inside the MCU? Or will he be used for comedic effect as suggested in She-Hulk previews? We may not see EL AGUILA on any future MCU team of X-Men, but "Power Man's Deadliest Super-Foe" might have a small but historic role to play as Phase 4 draws to a close...
