This is a promotional poster displayed inside New York City taxi cabs during the original "off-"Broadway run of Man of La Mancha, at the Anta Washington Square Theater.  The musical went on to win the 1966 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Actor (Richard Kiley), Director (Albert Marre), Original Score (Mitch Leigh music & lyricist Joe Darion) along with Howard Bay's stunning dungeon set winning for Scenic Design.

The musical was adapted by Dale Wasserman from his 90 minute TV Play "I, Don Quixote" which had a one time viewing on CBS' Du Pont Show of the Month on November 9, 1959.  Wasserman's teleplay  won the award for Best Anthology, More Than One Half Hour from the  Writer's Guild of America.

The sign is printed on card stock and is about 14"x6", and includes Al Hirschfeld's iconic line drawing with the one "Nina" on Sancho's donkey's skirting.  The quote is from John Chapman's N.Y. Daily News review.

Please note the condition on the side edges of the sign.  Over all it's in good condition and a unique addition if you are a Fan of La Mancha.
