Gaillardia Grandiflora grows red blooms with yellow tips and grey-green foliage. The large, daisy-like flowers are great for borders or cuttings and will create a beautiful parade in your garden. This drought resistant variety thrives in heat and sun.  Zone 2

Gaillardia is a perennial wildflower belonging to the Aster family. This native flower is almost effortless to grow and flourishes in sunny, dry locations. Also known as blanket flower, due to its growth habit, the plants perform best in poor soils and make a stunning addition to flower beds. Its heat and drought tolerance make gaillardia an excellent choice for xeriscaping/low water gardens, native pollinator gardens and wildflower meadows. Butterflies love to land on these colorful disks! Seeds germinate in 14-21 days. Start indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost or direct seed after last frost. Surface sow seeds and just lightly press into soil, as they require light in order to germinate. Ideal germination temperature is 60-65 F. Space plants about 12-14 inches apart. Avoid over watering.
