This tool is used to securely hold the alternator rotor, to stop it from rotating while loosening or tightening the nut retaining the rotor.

The tool incorporates two aluminum rings to prevent it from magnetically sticking to the alternator.

The rest of the tool is made from steel and is zinc plated to prevent corrosion.
